Beyond the Label

Travel to the heart of South Africa’s gorgeous Stellenbosch region, and at the end of your trek, you’ll find the Gabb family’s aptly named estate, Journey’s End. (You might recognize the winery as the 2022 Drinks Business Ethical Company of the Year.) Renowned writer and Master of Wine Jancis Robinson calls Chardonnay the family’s “strongest suit,” and Wild Child Chardonnay will show you why.

The name is inspired by the family’s winemaking philosophy. Crafted with hand-harvested, biodynamically farmed fruit (think super organic), the wine was partially ‘wild’ fermented, meaning natural yeasts and minimal winemaker intervention. The goal of this approach is to let what Mother Nature intended shine through in the fruit—and eventually your glass. The final wine offers delicate aromas of citrus, yellow apple, white peach and orange blossom. The palate is smooth and fruit-forward, with a zesty finish. A delicious match for roasted white meats, fresh seafood or grilled veggie kebabs.

Lovers of vibrant, complex whites will really go ‘wild’ for this Chardonnay. Order your share today.
