Beyond the Label

Long before it became a haven for grape growing, California’s Central Coast was home to numerous Spanish missions. Inspired by this heritage, The Mission is a silky-smooth Pinot Noir that was crafted with grapes grown along the coastline—during the great 2019 vintage, no less. It will certainly make a divine aperitif for red-wine-only friends and it’s even more delicious with food.

While Burgundy may be home to the world’s most famous Pinot Noir, Central Coast Pinot has a style all its own—balancing California’s riper character with the finesse you’d find in cooler climates. Known for brilliant sunshine and cool ocean breezes, the Central Coast boasts some of California’s oldest vines and is dotted with olive trees, both planted by immigrants over a century ago.

With ripe, red-berry flavors and a vibrant streak of freshness, The Mission will pair well with most foods, so feel free to experiment until you find a ‘heavenly’ match. We love meaty fish like plank-grilled salmon or seared tuna steaks. It’ll also be delicious with poultry dishes (Thanksgiving turkey is a classic pairing). And vegetarians can enjoy it with quinoa-stuffed red peppers, fresh salads, or even goat cheese.

The Mission just picked up a gold medal at the San Francisco International Wine Competition, so you can pray our stocks last—or you can place your order now to avoid missing out.
