Welcome to Patagonia, Argentina’s extreme southern frontier. Down here, sunny days, cool nights, and icy-cold Antarctic winds produce uniquely tight clusters of tiny, thick-skinned Cabernet grapes—and reds of serious color and flavor.
The acclaimed Schroeder family have braved the elements in Patagonia since 1927—and their quality-obsessed approach has clearly paid off. Among their many accolades are regular gold medals and 90+ scores from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, who have hailed their Cabernets as “reminiscent of top-quality Bordeaux.”
The 2020 release of their flavor-packed Cabernet arrives with a gold medal from France’s Gilbert & Gaillard, 91 points from Vinous.com and 90 points from critic James Suckling. It offers complex aromas of smoky black currant and graphite, then smooth and intense flavors of cassis and black cherry (plus hints of nutmeg and fresh mint) on the palate. James Suckling captured it rather nicely: "Redcurrants and some vibrant cherries and plums here. A hint of tobacco leaf, too. This medium-bodied cabernet shows generous fruit, wrapped by firm, nicely chewy tannins. Well balanced and drinkable."
This is a serious Cabernet value—and the perfect partner for a juicy steak. Secure your share today.
