Beyond the Label

Raymond Vineyards “District Collection” Cabernet Sauvignon is an exquisite, complex Cab that overflows with velvety black fruit and chocolate flavors. It’s part of a special range from Raymond Vineyards (“one of the iconic wineries of Napa,” says critic Robert Parker) that showcases Napa Valley’s finest terroirs.

Led by the inimitable Jean-Charles Boisset, who comes from a long line of respected winemakers in Burgundy, France, the Raymond team spared no expense to craft this superb Cabernet. They sourced the grapes from four prime-sited vineyards in Napa’s prized St. Helena district, where a favorable climate and excellent soils produce concentrated, structured and intense wines.

The grapes were grown during the glorious 2008 vintage, which Wine Spectator rated 96 points overall and praised as “unique for its depth and concentration.” In the cellar, twice-daily pumpovers extracted maximum color and flavor from the fruit. After fermentation, the wine aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, which imparted subtle oak flavors and great structure.

One sip and you’ll understand why Wine Enthusiast rated it 91 points. Even at nearly 20 years old, this gorgeous Cabernet has plenty of vibrancy, brimming with complex, smooth notes of black fruit, tobacco and dark chocolate. We recommend you decant before serving to open up the flavors and remove any naturally occurring sediment (a normal feature in a mature, barrel-aged wine), then pair with a fine meal.

We only have 108 bottles to share. Strictly first come, first served.
