Beyond the Label

Orange wine is every bit as refreshing as white or rosé, with a color and character all its own. If you want a fabulous taste, try Orangutan. This 91-pointer from Austria’s acclaimed Winzer Krems cooperative in Krems, a region with a winemaking history that dates back 2,000 years.

Winemaker Franz Arndorfer crafted it with Grüner Veltliner, Austria’s star white grape. How come it’s orange? Franz fermented the wine on its skins for 18 days. This gave the wine a golden hue with a lovely orange tinge plus a creamy texture. He also filtered the wine to keep it clear (many orange wines have a cloudy look).

Orange wines often cost $20+ a bottle—so, you’re getting a great deal. Order today.
