95448 Inside Track Sonoma County Zinfandel hails from the Zinfandel producer in California. Seriously, if you know anything about fine Sonoma Zinfandel, this is the winery you’re thinking of. We’re just not legally allowed to confirm it—we signed a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to get this incredible wine.
Its legendary origins go back to one of the most famous wineries in all of California. They helped put California wine on the map by scoring very highly in the 1976 Judgment of Paris wine tasting. Since then, they’ve forged a reputation for showcasing the best vineyard sites across California and following a sustainably minded, “pre-industrialized” approach to making wine.
Though famous for single-varietal wines, the winery does make a few coveted blends. Inside Track is one of those exact same wines, which normally retails for over $40—but it’s bottled under our simpler label at a far friendlier price. It’s crafted from grapes grown in prized vineyards across Sonoma County, with fruit from vines up to 130 years old. While it’s primarily Zinfandel, there are healthy portions of Petite Sirah and Carignane for added depth.
Aged for 10 months in American oak barrels, the wine is beautifully concentrated and complex. Look for vibrant dark berry notes, framed by hints of tobacco leaf, black tea and dark chocolate. Delicious on its own, it’ll also shine alongside barbecued meats, roasted turkey or wood-fired pizzas.
